Robber flees Ballard bank heist scene in Porsche

He probably looked like an average bank robber when he walked into the Ballard bank, but he fled the scene in a Porsche.

The robber was wearing a black jacket and had his face covered when he entered the building. Police say the man held up the U.S. Bank at NW 61st Street and 15th Avenue NW in a "takeover style," telling everyone to get down on the ground.

The robber demanded money from the tellers and implied he had a gun.

The suspect is described as a white or Asian male, about 30 year old, 5' 8" to 5' 10", with a medium build and wearing a black jacket, jeans, face covering and sunglasses.

He fled the scene in a two-door black Porsche 944 Turbo hatchback.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI - Seattle Safe Streets Task Force at 206.622.0460.

    A 944?
Barely a Porsche. That car has to be at least 25 years old. And even then, it was one of the cheapest ones you could buy.

    Only My Opinion..........
Some intern probably saw this story on the news wire and thought......ohhhhhh, a Porsche!

This car was ONCE a beauty, but unless it is in MINT condition, it is probably a piece of crap! Mint, maybe 15K tops? Probably more like $3K. Considering that the guy is robbing a bank.......I will assume the latter.

Nothing to see here people....move along.

you're right the 24 was the poor mans porche, the 44 was better, looked good for it's time. It's still over 20 years old and you can get a good one for 4k...Now if he had a tom cruise 928? that would be cool..

    an old Porsche..
The 944 was a medium grade fun ride in its day. This guy was driving an ancient yawner by todays standards. Classified in the used car directorys as a piece of crap unless fully restored.. But MYNW youngin's looks at "Porsche" and thinks "Wowoe Kazowie' What a STORY!! A bank robber driving a Mustang Cobra with 490HP under the hood should be a bigger deal..

    No Way
I'd rather have a 914 than a 944, at least they have some character.
