Bellevue officers investigated after dustup at CenturyLink

Some Bellevue Police officers are in trouble for hassling a Seattle officer who was working Sunday's Seahawks game at CenturyLink Field.

Three off-duty Bellevue officers had apparently been doing some heavy tailgating before the game. The Seattle Times reports one of them tossed a beer cup on the ground in front of the Seattle officer, and when she asked him to pick it up, they all surrounded her and started calling her names.

The officers flashed their badges and taunted the officer. Backup was called, but the unruly behavior continued.

Bellevue's chief has since apologized to the officer and ordered an internal investigation. No one in the group was arrested or cited, though the officers appeared to be intoxicated.

    Ego + Booze = attitude + Badge = obnoxious attitude. The spd officer called back-up = supervisor = report = "we're are going to call your supervisor" = evryone relaxed and things calmed down. I hope they get time off or something, this is a total embarrassment. The brass at BPD will NOT be please no matter what really happened.

    Need I say anything more. I don't trust cops because I've had too many incidents where the cop pulling me over over a trafic violation was an sphincter, just because he had the power to be one. This is just another glaring example of why cops aren't trusted or respected like they used to be back in the day. Let's face it, there are a lot of cops who shouldn't be cops because they can't handle the power that comes with the badge. It will be interesting to see what happens to these cops, that is if we are ever privy to that information. They may just circle the wagons & protect their own regardless of whether or not they're guilty. And why weren't they arrested?? At the very least the SPD officer could & should have cuffed them for being drunk & disorderly. There needs to be consequences for the crime, just like there would be for me or you. But all too often that is not the case when it comes to the cops or politicians.
