Kent police say two convenience stores were the target of takeover-style armed robberies by the same three men early Monday.

The first happened at about 1:45 a.m. at a 7-Eleven at 511 Central Ave. S.

Store employees told officers three suspects entered the store, pointed guns at them and one of the suspects fired a shot before stealing cash and fleeing.

As officers were investigating, another call came in at 2:53 a.m. about another takeover-style robbery. In that case, the same three suspects entered a Chevron at 27121 Military Rd. S., brandished guns, and fired two shots during the robbery.

They again fled with cash before officers arrived.

Surveillance video showed the suspects, believed to be men about 18 years old and average height and weight, all wearing dark clothing, masks and gloves.

They fled in a green 1996 Subaru Impreza with WA license plate BDZ2928. Police say the car was stolen out of Oregon a day before the robberies.

Police described each suspect as follows:

Suspect 1 was wearing a black puffy hooded North Face jacket, black Adidas pants, and tan work boots.

Suspect 2 was wearing a black hooded Adidas jacket with three white stripes down the sleeves, black Adidas pants, black boots, and a green mask.

Suspect 3 was wearing a puffy hooded gray jacket with black sleeves, black pants with three gray stripes down the legs, black New Balance shoes, a blue long-sleeved shirt wrapped around his head and gloves.

No one was hurt in either robbery.

Investigators say they are continuing to gather evidence and are following up on leads.

Kent police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or the Kent police tip line at 253-856-5808. You can also see photos of each suspect and a similar vehicle here.
