Fire investigators have determined two fires set in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood early Monday morning were intentionally set.
The first — at Habitude Salon and Spa and Red Star Taco Bar — caused $190,000 of damage.
The Seattle Fire Department responded to “heavy fire” in the alley at the 500 block of N 36 St. around 3:50 a.m. Crews — consisting of ten engine companies and six ladder companies — extinguished the fire within 90 minutes.
There was nobody inside the businesses at the time of the fire. There were no injuries to firefighters, according to SFD.
Seattle Fire was then called out to another fire in the 400 block of N 36th St, about two blocks west of the first fire. A small fire was quickly extinguished on the exterior of the building. That fire caused $10,000 of damage at Ounce of Prevention.
