While numerous Seattleites were busy shoveling their cars out of the snow or timidly walking instead of driving, three teenagers decided it was an opportune time for a little joyriding. Sometimes a snowball fight isn’t fun enough.
On Tuesday, the suspects stole two vehicles from a car rental agency near SeaTac, including a 2018 BMW 430i, reports the SPD Blotter.

The next day the stolen BMW was sighted near Magnusson Park, and sped away from approaching police. But instead of pursuing them for a slippery police chase, the suspects were surreptitiously followed by Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) using tracking data provided by BMW — a fact which may be slightly disturbing to criminals looking to steal newer BMWs.
Police tracked the car to downtown, and then from Central District to eastbound on Interstate 90 all the way to Renton.

How did the pursuit end? You guessed it. The driver got the BMW stuck in the snow, and all three juvenile suspects were taken into custody by Renton police and MCTF detectives — with a little help from the snow.
