Architects for Amazon have updated their design for the futuristic centerpiece of the company’s new campus on the northern edge of downtown Seattle.

The architects advanced their plans for the outdoor public spaces and the lowrise office building, (or spheres) on Block 19 of the Rufus Project.

Architects say the want to the new design to create an alternative environment at the center of three block development. It will serve as a workplace and as a visual focus for the surrounding neighborhood.

“The generative idea is that a plant rich setting has restorative qualities that are not found in the typical office,” said architects from NBBJ in their proposal to the City of Seattle.

The architects are set to present their latest plans to the city Design Review Board on Tuesday.
