If you have the singing chops, maybe you can plan on attending auditions for a new reality show at the Hard Rock Cafe in Seattle this Saturday.

No, you’re not auditioning for “The Voice.” Or “America’s Got Talent.” Or the “X-Factor.” Or “American Idol.” Or even short-lived “The Singing Bee.”

The Seattle Weekly reports Nick Lachey will host the new NBC reality/game show “The Winner Is” in which the premise is far more confusing than your average sing-and-people-vote-on-if-they-like-you show.

From the press release:

The contestants will be judged by a special in-studio panel led by one celebrity judge (to be announced) as they compete for an ultimate cash prize of $1 million. In a unique twist, they will have the chance to negotiate a deal with their opponent. Before hearing their fate the contestants can choose to step out of the competition in exchange for a predetermined cash prize or continue on in the game.

Howie Mandel will not be around to make the deal and if contestants feel they were cheated, it will be hard for them to hail “The Cash Cab” after the show’s taping.

While “The Winner Is” will name contestants so-called ‘winners,’ we as the television audience, could possibly end up the loser.

It’s unclear if Nick Lachey will be at Saturday’s auditions, which will take place from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
