Proponents of Obamacare are trying hard, sometimes too hard, to reach out to young people.
That got KIRO Radio's Andrew Walsh thinking about how he would try and target the young folks to sign up for health insurance. He turned to 'Breaking Bad' while listeners had some of their own topical suggestions.

Listener's idea: The Scared Straight approach
Much like the scared straight program in used to frighten teens out of a life of crime, the 18 to 35-year-old crowd, a typically healthy bunch, could see what it was like to face a career ending injury and hundreds of thousands in unpaid medical bills from when they were uninsured.
"You have to look at the statistics and I know young people don't get sick, but 18 to 35 is the highest risk for traumatic injury - and that's automobile accidents, gunshot wounds, drug overdoses, outdoor sporting accidents," the listener said. "My niece, she's 22, she ran into a tree on a [three-wheeler] she's got a concussion, a paralyzed right arm, a compound fracture of her right femur. She's got a $225,000 hospital bill." The listener said that his niece is doing better now, but her plans to become a beautician seem much less likely.
