"Great mtg today w/@macklemore, @RyanLewis & colleagues about increasing youth engagement in politics & service," Steny Hoyer tweeted. "In front of the West Wing.... #whitehouse," Macklemore said on Instagram. "Gave my first speech at the White House today. It was CRaZy!!! #westwing #whitehouse #DC" Macklemore said on Instagram.

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer tweeted out a photo of himself with Seattle’s own Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

“Great mtg today w/ @macklemore, @RyanLewis & colleagues about increasing youth engagement in politics & service,” Hoyer, (D-Md.) tweeted.

Macklemore and Lewis were in Washington D.C. for a show at the Verizon Center Monday night.

“It’s interesting Hoyer is saying well I had to have a meeting with him (Macklemore) so I could learn how to talk to the youth,” says 770 KTTH host David Boze. “But I’m always thinking if you really want to reach the youth, quit saying I need some sort of special envoy to reach the youth.”

Boze says the party should be able to speak to the youth with results, rather than pulling in all their celebrity friends.

“The left is chock full of celebrities eager to talk to the youth. They’re constantly talking to the youth. Right now, they’re kind of crumbling because the results that you’ve offered are so bad. So you get the results, you’ll get the youth to follow.” But to that, Boze offers a caveat, “not all of them because some of them are too brainwashed into, well, the kind of things Steny Hoyer would like, frankly.”

Macklemore also toured the White House during his visit, posting pics to his Instagram account.
