School bus crash in Covington leaves kids with minor injuries

Students riding the school bus home in Covington Monday afternoon were injured in a collision involving two other vehicles.
The King County Sheriff’s Office said that the kids’ injuries are minor.
One vehicle carrying five occupants was involved in the crash. The King County Sheriff’s Office originally reported two vehicles were involved.
Two people were taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical conditions. The three other people fled the scene, but were captured, according to the sheriff’s office. Two of those escapees were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Sgt. Ryan Abbott told KIRO Radio one of the runners had a gun.
The roadway at 16500 block of SE Covington Sawyer Road is closed during the investigation.
