As a mother of two boys with autism, Angela Fish of Tacoma quickly found other Pierce County Families, just like hers, who needed help. So, Angela took matters into her own hands and founded The Special Families of Pierce County Support Group.
She then stepped in to volunteer as the Executive Director at Exceptional Families Network in Lakewood. Both provide support and education – while empowering families and the community to create a positive environment for kids with special needs.
Angela’s goal is simple, support families so they never feel isolated. She goes to great lengths to make it happen by organizing, speaking at events and hosting support groups; anything she can do to help families of children with special needs.
Because of Angela’s courage and dedication, KIRO Radio and your community credit union, WSECU are proud to honor Angela as a Hometown Hero and award her $2,000 as a way of saying thanks for all you do!
