Democrat Barbara Buono running for governor in NJDecember 11, 2012 @ 9:45 am
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - State Sen. Barbara Buono has filed papers to be a candidate for governor in New Jersey.
The Democrat released a video Tuesday in which she says the state has more to rebuild than damage cause by Superstorm Sandy.
In the video, Buono criticizes Republican Gov. Chris Christie for failing to create jobs and failing to work with teachers to find common ground on education issues.
Christie announced last week that he would seek a second term. Recent polls show the governor's popularity at record levels.
Buono lacks support from Democratic leaders and suffers from little name recognition among voters statewide.
