40 ex-LAPD officers seek reviews of dismissals

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Dozens of fired Los Angeles police officers are taking up the chief's offer to re-examine their dismissals since a deadly rampage by Christopher Dorner, who claimed that he was wrongly expelled from the force.

The Los Angeles Times ( http://lat.ms/Y7E2uY) reports 40 former officers have requested case reviews in the two months since Dorner killed four people before apparently committing suicide in a mountain cabin.

Dorner claimed his 2009 firing was prompted by racism. Chief Charlie Beck vowed he would re-examine the cases of other officers who believed they were wrongly expelled.

However, the Times reports the officers have been told the city charter prevents the LAPD from reinstating officers who were fired more than three years ago.

I just don't see anything in this story. To say its real.
The whole thing is in poor shape. So with that just like the Sandy Hook staged school shoot with criss actors. I see this as fake news also. Are Reality is being altered by those who control the news. News reporters are nothing more then trained monkeys. We are in scary times. No! reality anymore. Of course the Cabin is on fire so nobody can identify the person. Gee who would of thought?.

    Amazing...
They did not try to wait him out.. They went in after him.... Again my biggest problem with this is how because of who the victims were.. This became one of the biggest man hunts in US history.. Don't get me wrong he needed to be stopped but you can't deny that if this was family that was being targeted or some other organization there would not have been this large of a law enforcement response....

i still have a strange feeling...
that the burned body they found isn't his.

the guy was highly trained and clearly thought out a LOT of what he did carefully.

what a media coup it would be if he managed to get away and the body was of someone ELSE!

i'll wait for the results of the dental records/dna testing before i get too excited about them "getting their man."

That the police response would be the same for anyone who was up to the same activity on this scale such as this.

    Cash... I disagree....
There's been plenty of instances where entire families have been threatened by a person, and they've come through on those threats... it does not garner the kind of attention this manhunt got, those fmaily members do not get put in protective custody... and the FBI and other agencies aren't brought in... It's different because these are police officers and their families... The response of Law enforcement is entirely different in this instance and you know it...

What about the 2 people the Police shot
When they mis-identified them? We haven't heard anything about those people since it happened, according to reports, 2 people were shot by LAPD when they were spotted driving a truck that looked similar to the suspect's near a residence that had LAPD family members in it under protection... I haven't heard anything about those people since that happened... LAPD can shoot people without confirming who the person is? and they don't get arrested for shooting random people? What the heck?

All of the Cops in this case better be fired
They shot two unarmed women for having a similar car as the suspect... That's gross incompetence and attempted murder. They should be fired and Imprisoned for no less than 10 years... If I thought somebody was after me, and I misidentified that person's vehicle and shot it up, I would be in prison by now... don't pull this above the law bullspit it's ridiculous.
