Car hits 3 pedestrians in Montana, killing 1August 19, 2013 @ 3:29 pm
GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - Authorities in northern Montana say a vehicle struck three pedestrians near a bar in the tiny town of Sunburst, killing one and injuring two others.
Officials in Toole County tell the Great Falls Tribune ( http://gftrib.com/152Ysbx) that 25-year-old Charles Geoffrey Santoro of Kevin (KEE'-vin) was arrested on suspicion of negligent homicide and negligent vehicular assault.
The crash happened at 12:50 a.m. Monday, near the Sunburst Vets Club bar.
The sheriff's office says one pedestrian died at the scene and two others were hurt and taken to the hospital in Shelby, about 30 miles away. The victims' names and ages were not immediately released.
Sunburst is near the Canadian border and has a population of about 400.
