Teen missing from French town found alive in trunk

PARIS (AP) - An official says a 15-year-old girl who disappeared a week ago from her village in southern France is safe after she was found tied up in the trunk of a car during a traffic stop hundreds of miles (kilometers) away in western Germany

The girl was reported missing Nov. 9 in the southern Gard region after her scooter was discovered outside the family home, with all her belongings still under the seat except her helmet and cell phone. Her mother told the television network BFM that she was found Friday and is safe.

An official close to the investigation told the Sipa news agency that the girl was found in the trunk of a sedan. The official said the suspect was already known to police.
