Officials name British worker killed in LibyaJanuary 4, 2014 @ 3:15 am
LONDON (AP) - British officials have named a British man shot dead in Libya earlier this week as Mark De Salis.
He was killed along with a New Zealand woman near the coastal area in the west of the country. Their bodies were found near an oil and gas complex near the city of Sabratha.
His family said in a statement released by the Foreign Office that they are "shocked and devastated."
Officials said he had worked in the Libyan capital Tripoli for six years, most recently as a power manager helping to provide electricity.
The two were killed less than a month after an American teacher was killed in Benghazi.
