Official: 12 taken from bar were killed in revenge

MEXICO CITY (AP) - Mexico City authorities say a suspect has confirmed that a dozen young people kidnapped three months ago from a bar in the capital were killed in revenge for the slaying of a drug dealer.

Mexico City Attorney General Rodolfo Rios says the suspect told police that the group was kidnapped two days after the alleged drug dealer was taken out of a bar and shot in the head in the trendy Condesa neighborhood.

Rios said Monday the suspect also told authorities the 12 were taken to the town of Tlalmanalco on May 26, the same day they were kidnapped.

Police unearthed 13 bodies last week from a mass grave on a ranch in that town east of Mexico City.

Authorities have not said who the 13th victim may be.
