Suicide bomber kills 3 in northwest Pakistan

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) - Police say a suicide bomber walked up to a vehicle owned by an Afghan religious leader in northwestern Pakistan and set off his explosives, killing three people.

The leader, Haji Hayatullah, was not harmed in the attack in Peshawar city because he was in a nearby mosque attending Friday prayers.

Police officer Riaz Ali Shah says Hayatullah's driver and guard were killed. Peshawar police chief Liaquat Ali Khan says a passerby was also killed and two others were wounded.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

There are over 1 million refugees in Pakistan from neighboring Afghanistan.

    Ouch!
Apparently the two suicide bombers were maintaining 2.0 GPAs, but now they will have a felony on their record and won't be able to qualify for McGinn's free college scholarship.

    Sad!
This does nothing to boost the popularity of the Taliban in Pakistan and only proves that radical Islam is indeed evil and must be vanquished. I hope this sends a wake up call to those Pakistanis on the fence between supporting radical Islam and this war on Islamic terrorism. This rabid dog has bit the hand that feeds it and I hope the people of Pakistan will help us put it down as it deserves.

    True to my beliefs
You Rightys don't question something that conforms to your political beliefs. Tell me Dummies what does a group like the Taliban GAIN from this? Friendship? Loyalty? The Taliban has built its strength in the area using other methods then what the story claimed. More likely they attacked these Paramilitary group before they attacked the Taliban and OBL had NOTHING to do with it.These attacks happen every day Pakistan is FULL of problems from more then just the Taliban

    Oh my
oh my. Messiah101. Oh my. Gain from this? Taliban kills its enemies. Taliban is to be feared and obeyed. Good golly lefty, do you live in a gated community with armed guards and padded furniture? In the larger world the ability to deal death is feared. People usually want to live. So, credibility is enhanced by the killing of the people in this event. C'mon dude, c'mon. You may be a kind, caring, compassionate person (when not angry and shrieking about those who disagree with you) but in the larger world outside of the Puget Sound Worker's Paradise Kindergarten and Day Care Center there are many very hard and bloody minded people who use the threat of random or targeted violent death to attain and retain power. Remember how freaked out the leftists got over GWB saying "If you're not with us you're against us"? Taliban backs it up with all the random and targeted slaughter it can bring to bear. Reality versus Kindergarten, sad but true.
