Militiamen attack gas complex in western Libya

TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) - A Libyan gas company official says militiamen have attacked a natural gas complex in the country's west, injuring two guards and stealing weapons and military vehicles.

The official says the attack took place early Monday and targeted the Mellitah Oil and Gas complex near Zwara, about 110 kilometers (70 miles) from the capital, Tripoli. The complex is a joint venture between Libya's National Oil Corp. and Italy's largest energy company, Eni SpA. The militiamen fled the site briefly after seizing weapons and equipment from the guards.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief reporters.

A military official told Libya's official news agency that military helicopters are searching for the attackers.

Over a year after toppling Moammar Gadhafi's regime, Libya is plagued by lawlessness.

    The difference is that Obama kicks the crap out of tyrants instead of trying to make money off chasing them around like W the rest of the GOP clowns. Obama got Osama Bin laden and Gadaffi - under three years time.

    How many more US soldiers has Obama put into that ILLEGAL war Iraq? How many have died since Obama inhabited the White House? All this after he ran LIED on cutting troops and the military. How many more wars has your Dear Leader gotten us into since 2009? Your Dear Leader is doing all this just for the chance for more votes. American blood for Obama votes is all this is!

    Obama said more troops in Afghanistan when he ran. I have mentioned this to you more than once. Obama did what NATO requested. There was a time when The GOP wanted Ghadafi gone. Now it seems to be a problem for some of them Gee, I wonder why? He is also reducing the troop level in Iraq and which party is complaining about it? Hint: it isn't the Dems.

    Zero (0). The US action in Libya is, and always has been a supporting roll, that we agreed to at the behest of NATO.
