BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) - A Colombian judge has revoked an arrest warrant for a former official who was a close associate of ex-President Alvaro Uribe.
Prosecutors last month obtained the order for the arrest of former Peace Commissioner Luis Carlos Restrepo for allegedly choreographing the bogus surrender of a group of leftist rebels.
Judge Johanna Rodriguez revoked the warrant Friday. She says it was based on "conjectures" by prosecutors and there isn't sufficient information showing Restrepo's involvement.
Restrepo has said he is innocent but remains under investigation.
The case stems from a 2006 ceremony in which 63 purported rebels disarmed. Some of the men later testified that they weren't rebels and were paid for participating.
