Wash. joins states filing briefs on gay marriage

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Washington is joining more than a dozen other states filing briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court in support of gay marriage.

State Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced Thursday that he joined friend-of-the-court briefs in two landmark cases _ one urging the justices to strike down California's Proposition 8, which outlawed gay marriage, and another challenging the federal Defense of Marriage Act. That filing argues that DOMA violates the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution by denying federal benefits to same-sex couples who are legally married under the laws of their state.

Washington voters approved gay marriage in last fall's election. Ferguson says the state has a clear interest in supporting marriage equality. He notes that some Washington residents who are federal employees could be denied benefits under DOMA.

Yeah --- all those hetero's that will turn gay. After all, societal acceptance turns us hetero's all gay simply because acceptance exists...

Yea, it is quite childish. Now you can go about obsessing over it or you can ignore it and live your life without worrying about those 'two penises' that happen together in other people's houses. It's your choice.

It's very odd how those that profess to be grossed out by this continue to obsess on it. Why do folks like you obsess on the sex activities of people you likely won't ever see doing the sex activities doing? It's like you want to obsess over it for some closeted reason or something.

    You know what
I was walking down the hallway at southcenter mall with my wife and saw 2 young men walking in front of us smooching and making out as they walk. Excuse me, but I don't want to see any of that revolting and disgusting behavior. Doesn't nature itself teach us that it's wrong? Why is it that nature intended a penis and vagina to be for one another, not a p and p or a v and v. You have to be stupid not to see that.
