SHELTON, Wash. (AP) - Three people were arrested Thursday in the shooting of a Shelton woman who was fatally wounded when she answered a knock on her door the day before Thanksgiving.
The Mason County sheriff's office says a child custody dispute led to the killing of 30-year-old Barbara Michelle Giles (Guyls).
Police and deputies arrested her former live-in boyfriend, 37-year-old Anthony Raymond Miller, his 16-year-old daughter and her 18-year-old boyfriend, James R. Hartfield.
The sheriff's office says Miller and his daughter plotted the killing through coded text messages and she went to the door with Hartfield on Nov. 21. Hartfield is accused of shooting Giles multiple times. She died Saturday at an Olympia hospital.
All three suspects were jailed for investigation of murder and conspiracy charges.
