OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Police arrested seven people Tuesday evening in downtown Olympia after they refused to take down a homeless camp.
The Olympian reports ( http://bit.ly/YXneVu) the camp was set up Monday on state-owned property by the Olympia Movement for Justice and Peace to protest the lack of shelter.
At the same time as the arrests, the Olympia City Council and the Thurston County Board of Commissioners held a joint meeting on homeless services. They made no decisions.
