Man arrested in disappearance of Spokane woman

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Spokane police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder in the disappearance of a woman who went missing one year ago Thursday.

Detectives booked 27-year-old Jason D. Flett into jail Wednesday for investigation of second-degree murder in the death of 27-year-old Ramona Childress.

Police believe her body was dumped in the area of Elk, Washington. KREM-TV reported that human remains were found in that area on Thursday, but the remains have not yet been identified.

Meanwhile, Flett in an interview with KREM has denied killing Childress, who was his ex-girlfriend.
