Washington women beat Arizona State 77-74

SEATTLE (AP) - Talia Walton scored 19 points to lead Washington to a 77-74 victory over Arizona State on Friday in the Pac-12 opener for both teams.

Jada Blackwell scored a career-high 29 points to lead Arizona State (8-5), which entered the game with a five-game winning streak.

Walton was 8 of 17 from the field for the Huskies (9-3).

Aminah Williams had 14 points and 12 rebounds. Jazmine Davis scored 17 points, and Kristi Kingma had 14 points.

Washington led 36-32 at halftime in a game with 17 lead changes.

The Huskies shot 43.9 percent from the field for the game, while Arizona State shot 41.7 percent. Arizona dominated the boards 52-30.

Blackwell was 12 of 17 from the field and had eight rebounds.

Janae Fulcher had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Adrianne Thomas added 11 points. Micaela Pickens and Elisha Davis had six assists apiece.
