WA has 575 new nationally certified teachers

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - For the fourth year in a row, Washington has more new nationally board certified teachers than any other state except for North Carolina.

Washington has 575 teachers who passed the rigorous evaluation process. The state now has a total of more than 6,800 board certified teachers.

Four Washington districts are among the top 20 nationally for the number of board certified teachers: Bellevue, Federal Way, Seattle and Lake Washington.
