Vancouver police shooting under investigation

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) - A Vancouver police detective and state Corrections Department community supervision specialist are on paid leave during the investigation of Friday's fatal shooting.

They were members of a U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force that was trying to arrest 29-year-old Jesse John France of Vancouver.

The Columbian reports ( http://bit.ly/XtMG2m) he was an ex-convict wanted for failing to check in with his community corrections officer.

Police found him in a car outside an apartment building. They say he rammed an unmarked police vehicle and was shot in the confrontation.
