About 1,500 rally in Olympia to oppose gun control

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Roughly 1,500 protesters showed up at the Capitol to rally against gun restrictions.

The rally was part of Saturday's nationwide series of pro-firearms events dubbed "Guns Across America."

The Olympian reports ( http://is.gd/F8iKNl) some protesters carried handguns while others strapped rifles and semi-automatic weapons to their backs.

Tim Vinyard and his 9-year-old daughter Molly left Spokane at 5 a.m. to attend. Vinyard told the newspaper it's important that responsible gun owners are heard.

Molly, meanwhile, held a sign saying, "I trust my teacher to protect me." Molly said it means she wants her teacher to have a gun in case a bad guy comes in.

Former NFL tight end Clint Didier was among the speakers. He urged the crowd to stock up on food, guns, ammunition, communication devices and medicines.

    That's all they could muster up for 2nd amendment rally, for a country that has a weapon for every person in the whole U.S., only 2k cared enough to show up,lol. For a country that has a weapon in every household you would think the whole state of Washinton would have been there, I guess all the wind blowing on this site is not a true representation of what the American public actually feel. Similar to the election I guess.

    I know it's a tough idea for you to grasp, but let me explain it. I'll even simplify it; try to keep up. First, we have the BIG gubment....the one you get your main check from and the one that is stealing my liberties. You know, the one you should cash to pay your mom for sleeping in her basement and all. They are called the Feds or the U.S. Gov't. Then we have the States, the one you get your EBT card from along w/ your welfare check. The stuff you sell to buy pot. Then we have cities or municipalities. They are the one that supplies smaller items to you, like your medical dope. And all these come from MY taxes. As to pensions, I'll be sure to remember that they are "a thing of the pass" or is it "PAST"? Idiot. You can't even insult me using proper English grammar. It must be sad to be so pathetic, weak and lonely. I digress: I'll remember pensions are a thing of the PAST each & every time I deposit my PENSION CHECK into my personal account.
