Woman's body found in in Seattle homeless count

SEATTLE (AP) - Police say a woman's body was found by outreach workers conducting the annual homeless count in the Seattle.

The body was found about 3:45 a.m. Friday along a south Seattle street near Interstate 90. There was no obvious injury, and it was turned over to the King County medical examiner's office.

KOMO reports ( http://bit.ly/Yt2HMh) the Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness found more than 2,700 people sleeping in cars, tents, buses and emergency rooms or in doorways and under bridges.

That's a 5-percent increase over last year's One Night Count.

About 800 volunteers spread out from 10 locations in the county to count every person they saw outside.
