Vancouver teen was killed by veteran officer

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) - The Vancouver officer who killed a teenage shooting and robbery suspect has been identified by the department as 44-year-old Cpl. Marshal Henderson, a 15-year veteran of the department.

He's on paid leave for the investigation of Friday's shooting.

Police say Henderson shot 16-year-old Douglas E. Combs of Vancouver in a confrontation in a parking lot. The Clark County medical examiner's office said Monday he died of gunshot wounds in the back.

The Columbian reports ( http://bit.ly/Wz58GZ) Combs was a suspect in a home invasion shooting early Friday that sent a man to the hospital. He also was suspected in two armed robberies the same day.

Combs was with another 16-year-old who was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in juvenile court on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.

    There are a 100 if not a 1000 reason that a suspect can be shot in the back so lets wait for the actual facts to come out before we try to hang the officer.

    They should have shot him in the back of the head. He deserved it 100%. The worthless pile had shot someone else and was suspected of other armed robberies. It was just a matter of time before this worthless pile killed someone. GOOD JOB OFFICER, GOOD JOB! Give the man a Medal.

    Oh by the way NICE JOB OF PARENTING MOM AND DAD. your 16 yr old pile of .... is off the street before he killed someone. I hope you both are proud of him. You raised a good one there.
