Packed hearing on Grays Harbor oil terminal

ABERDEEN, Wash. (AP) - A standing room only crowd of hundreds of people attended a meeting in Aberdeen Wednesday night to discuss plans for an oil terminal at the Port of Grays Harbor.

KXRO reports ( http://bit.ly/VpIil1) most of the question from the crowd dealt with ecological impacts and the increased rail traffic from oil arriving by train in tanker cars.

Port Executive Director Gary Nelson said if all three proposed projects were completed they would add more than 100 permanent jobs.

The three projects are in early stages and will have to go through face a rigorous planning and permitting process.

The three companies with "crude by rail" projects are Imperium Terminal Services, LLC, Westway Terminal Company, and U.S. Development Group, LLC.
