Mother of 2 children stabbed

RICHLAND, Wash. (AP) - The mother of two young children has been stabbed to death in Richland.

The children, ages 6 and 2, arrived crying at a neighbor's door about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, saying their mom was dead.

The Tri-City Herald reports that police found 32-year-old Rebecca Vandeventer dead inside her apartment with what appeared to be several stab wounds to her chest.

A short time later, 34-year-old Lawrence Arnold Miller turned himself in at the Richland Police Department.

Miller was booked into the Benton County jail on investigation of second-degree murder.
