OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - State House members are scheduled to take their first vote Friday using a new system to record their yays and nays.
State employees have installed a new system to record and display votes. It features touch-screen pads on lawmaker desks.
The Olympian reports ( http://bit.ly/11kgMfG) the new system costs about $670,000 but lawmakers from both parties agreed it was needed to replace a 15-year-old roll-call system that would freeze up.
