SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Spokane, Wash., police say an eighth grade student accused of drawing up a 64-person "hit list" has been booked into juvenile detention.
Officers who talked to the student after a teacher found the list Friday afternoon in a classroom say he claimed it was a joke. Authorities determined that the Garry Middle School student did not have access to weapons at his home.
The list reportedly included the names of both teachers and students. Spokane Public Schools was contacting those on the list, including parents of listed students.
