Man arrested in Montana in death of mother

ELK, Wash. (AP) - Law officers in Montana have arrested a man wanted in connection with the stabbing death of his mother in Elk, Wash.
Twenty-four-year-old Matthew Swancara was arrested without incident Monday afternoon in Kalispell, Mont.
The Pend Oreille (pon-duh-RAY') County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic violence call at an Elk home about 8:41 p.m. Sunday night and discovered 56-year-old Sally Swancara dead from apparent stab wounds.
Sheriff's Sgt. Questin Youk says Matthew Swancara had fled the scene prior to their arrival.
The investigation is continuing.
