Texas-Arlington holds off Seattle 65-63

SEATTLE (AP) - Brandon Edwards scored 12 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and Texas-Arlington held off Seattle 65-63 on Saturday night.

Texas-Arlington (14-9, 9-5 WAC) took a quick 10-4 lead out of the gates but Seattle responded with a 24-9 run capped off by Chad Rasmussen's jumper to give the Redhawks a 28-19 lead with 3:09 remaining in the first half.

Seattle led 31-26 at halftime but Shaq White-Miller buried a 3-pointer to open the second half which sparked a 10-5 run to tie it at 36-all.

From there the two teams traded baskets until it was tied at 62 thanks to a Rasmussen 3-pointer with 1:01 to go. Jordan Reves hit a pair of free throws with 12 seconds left to give the Mavericks a 64-63 lead and Kevin Butler hit a free throw with 1 second left to seal the deal for Texas-Arlington.

Reves had 11 points and 11 rebounds and Butler finished with 14.

Jarell Flora scored 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting to lead Seattle (7-18, 2-13).
