ARLINGTON, Wash. (AP) - Snohomish County officials say a bystander pulled Undersheriff Tom Davis from the Stillaguamish River near Arlington on Sunday.
County officials say the bystander saw Davis in the river and pulled him out before an official rescue crew could arrive on Sunday morning.
County spokeswoman Shari Ireton says Davis was taken to Cascade Valley Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
In a statement released Monday, he expressed his appreciation for the fast action of both the bystander and the Arlington police and fire departments.
