Curtis rolls past Newport 62-40

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - Curtis opened the fourth quarter on an 8-0 run and pulled away from Newport for a 62-40 victory in the Class 4A quarterfinals Thursday at the Tacoma Dome.
Senior guard Dominic Robinson scored a game-high 18 points for the Vikings (25-2), who advance to the semifinals on Friday.
Isaac Dotson led Newport (18-9) with 14 points and five rebounds, but picked up his fourth foul with 3:37 left in the third quarter. The Knights, who won five loser-out games to get into the tournament, will play in a consolation game Friday.
Dominique Jordan added 11 points and Isom Brown finished with 10 for Curtis, which has won its last six games by at least 13 points.
The Vikings' defense forced 26 turnovers _ Robinson finished with five steals _ and held the Knights to three points in the fourth quarter.
