Pateros easily knocks off Yakama Nation 63-36

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Rhiannon Easter scored 11 points to lead balanced Pateros past Yakama Nation 63-36 on Thursday and into the semifinals of the Class 1B girls state tournament.
Kim Vazquez had 11 rebounds and Lorie LeDoux 10 boards for the Nannies (18-3). Lynndel Wapsheli scored 17 points for the Eagles (12-8), who will play in a loser-out game.
Pateros raced to a 14-0 lead to start the game, capped by a Vazquez basket midway through the first quarter. Pateros stretched the lead to 32-10 late in the first half behind eight straight points by Vanessa Figueroa.
Yakama Nation scored eight straight points to open the second half and closed to within 36-21 before Pateros pulled away for good.
Katarina Wilson and Ashton Steggall each added nine points for Pateros.
