Gonzaga students devoted to basketball team

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Gonzaga students are deciding whether then can skip a few days of school and fly or drive to Salt Lake City to cheer the Bulldogs in the NCAA basketball tournament.

Some students told KXLY the March Madness memories would be worth it.

Students watched the tournament announcement Sunday on TV at the Crosby Student Center and rose to their feet and cheered when Gonzaga was named the No. 1 seed in the West.

The Bulldogs will open the tournament on Thursday in Salt Lake City against No. 16 seed Southern. Should Gonzaga get past Southern, the Bulldogs would face either Pittsburgh or Wichita State. The region also includes Ohio State, New Mexico and Kansas State.
