Charges filed in Tacoma day care attack

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - An 18-year-old man arrested in the violent sexual assault on a woman at a Tacoma day care was charged Thursday in Pierce County Superior Court.

Andrake Morris was arrested Tuesday and police believe he could be responsible for other assaults in Tacoma as well.

He has been charged with first-degree attempted rape, three counts of indecent liberties, two counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree assault, second-degree attempted kidnapping, residential burglary, third-degree theft and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

Police believe he attacked the worker at the Tender Heart Learning Center early Monday when she arrived for work. She let him inside because he said he wanted to enroll a child. The attacker ran off when another worker arrived.
