Caroline Kennedy visits Seattle elementaryApril 8, 2013 @ 8:55 pm
SEATTLE (AP) - Caroline Kennedy visited a West Seattle elementary school on Monday to celebrate both poetry and National Library Week.
At Sanislo Elementary, she listened to students reciting poems.
Kennedy is the honorary chairwoman of National Library Week.
Earlier in the day, she discussed her poetry anthology, "Poems to Learn by Heart," on KING-TV. She recalled how during her childhood she and her brother wrote down and illustrated poems for their mother, Jacqueline Kennedy, as birthday or Mother's Day presents.
She said her mother kept them in a scrapbook she passed down to her daughter.
The daughter of former President John F. Kennedy has published several books and is also an attorney.
