SEATTLE (AP) - A state appeals court has upheld a $150,000 award to a man who says the Seattle Police Department improperly denied a public records request.
The Seattle Times reports ( http://bit.ly/14Y71p9) the court upheld the decision of a King County Superior Court judge, that included a penalty of $45 a day.
The lawsuit was brought by Turner Helton who wanted to see records related to his complaint that he was roughed up by officers in November 2009.
