Seattle police: human remains found at campsite

SEATTLE (AP) - Seattle police say parks workers clearing blackberry bushes from a steep hillside north of downtown have found apparent human remains at an overgrown campsite.

Detective Jeff Kappel says homicide and crime scene detectives responded to the site Thursday, as did King County medical examiner's investigators.

He says a preliminary investigation indicates the remains had been on the hillside for "a significant period of time."
