Truck theft suspect shoots at police in Everett

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - Marysville police say a man suspected of stealing a pickup truck and leading officers on a chase to Everett shot at an officer before he was taken into custody.

Marysville police say officers did not return fire Monday as the suspect tried to run away. The 30-year-old Snohomish County man was tracked down by a dog and arrested.

Police Cmdr. Rob Lamoureaux says neither the officers nor the suspect were injured in the incident.

The chase began when an officer attempted to stop the truck because it did not have license plates. The chase ended in Everett when the truck hit a parked car and the driver tried to run away.
