Man dies in Yakima-area tractor accident

YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - The Yakima County sheriff's office says a 25-year-old Cowiche man has died in a tractor accident.

The man was found on the ground Monday morning near a running tractor with a mower attached. The sheriff's office says the man apparently fell off the moving tractor, and then was run over by the equipment. Medics were unable to revive him.

The man's name was not immediately released. He was working in an orchard several miles east of Yakima.

The case will be forwarded to the Department of Labor and Industries.
