Police: Covington adult man beat teenager to death

SEATTLE (AP) - Investigators say a 26-year-old Covington man beat a teenage boy to death and has been ordered held on a $1 million bail.

Seattlepi.com reports ( http://bit.ly/10JxC7M) that King County Sheriff's detectives believe the man instigated a fight with the 16-year-old victim just after midnight Saturday.

Court papers say the man punched the boy in the head several times, knocking him unconscious. Investigators say the man then dragged the boy's body away from the home where the fight began.

The boy's body was found on a road about five hours after the fight.

Prosecutors have until Wednesday to charge or release the 26-year-old, who's jailed on suspicion of second-degree murder.
