EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - Snohomish County is telling 18 police departments in King and Skagit Counties it will no longer hold their inmates at the county jail in Everett.
To prevent overcrowding, Sheriff Ty Trenary says the jail is eliminating outside users.
The Daily Herald reports ( http://bit.ly/1hYcfVy) the jail will book inmates arrested by law enforcement only in the county.
In 2013, an average of 158 of the jail's 1,200 beds were filled by inmates from other counties.
