Spokane council approves new parking metersJune 25, 2013 @ 5:45 am
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - The Spokane City Council approved plans Monday night for new downtown parking meters.
KREM reports ( http://bit.ly/136nnNb) the new meters will have a credit card reader and sensors that will wipe out any remaining time when a driver pulls away. People looking for a parking spot won't be able to use leftover time.
The city says the new meters also will notify parking monitors if a driver has not paid.
The city plans to install 800 new meters by this winter.
