Benton County judge keeps sex offender in custodyJuly 26, 2013 @ 1:35 pm
KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) - A man who sexually abused young girls and completed his prison sentence will remain in custody while the Washington attorney general's office seeks to have him committed as a sex predator.
KNDO reports ( http://bit.ly/1bWls0t) Stephen Robinson appeared in Benton County Superior Court on Friday and will be moved to the Special Commitment Center on McNeil Island until his next court hearing in September.
The 56-year-old had been scheduled for release Friday from the Washington State Penitentiary at Walla Walla.
The attorney general's office says Robinson has admitted to more than 100 assaults on young girls and said he would continue. He was convicted of offenses in 1984 in Benton County and in 1999 in Colorado.
